Salman Khan’s most awaited film of the year Sultan has been released today on 5000+ screens. Since a long time there is no big star movie has been released on box office and people are also waiting for a good film since a long time. So Sultan is the movie which can be first super hit of the year. Sultan is releasing on Eid so everyone was expecting 40 crores + on opening day box office collections. But because EID has shifted to 7th of July therefore it will hinder the Sultan’s Box office collections.
Although most of the shows are already booked in advance so there will be less damage but still Sultan Box office collections hit by a large amount due to shift of holiday. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, “Sultan” will see Salman Khan in the role of a wrestler. The film, produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner, is slated to release on July 6.
Distributor Rajesh Thadani told IANS that, “We were expecting close to Rs 40 crore on its opening day but now I feel the opening would come down to Rs 30 crore. I think ‘Sultan’ won’t get a record breaking opening which we were hoping for the film. The advance booking has been tremendous though.”
Sultan is a story of a wrestler who won the gold medal in Olympics but due to some circumstances he has to leave his wrestling. After few years, he practiced hard and again wins the fighting competition. Music is not so good like other Salman’s film and there is not even any signature dance step of Salman in this film. After so much twist Salman Khan’s Sultan faced huge loss on the opening day and Salman Khan’s Sultan Opening Day collection is Rs. 23 crores (approx.). Sultan has faced a loss of 15 crores on opening day collections. But it will cover all the collections in next coming days.
