Airtel has announced new offer for international users. They come up with bundled offers for international users in which Airtel has sliced down its rate by 99%. Yes it is true, all of this is happening because of new player in the telecom market which is no other than Reliance Jio.
Airtel has come up with three offers for its international users. First offer is of Rs. 649 in which Airtel is giving only 300 mb of 3G/4G data with 100 minutes of outgoing to India and with free incoming which is the highlight of this offer. But the validity of this offer is only 1 day. Similarly other two offers cost around 3,000 INR and 5,000 for 10 days and 1 month subsequently. But the main drawback of this offer is it is available only in US, UK, Canada and UAE. If you are going to any other company, then this offer is not for you.
Reliance Jio Effect:
Once the Airtel customer returns to India, the benefits of the plan ceases and the customer is automatically reverted to the base plan opted for prior to the Offer.
Actually Airtel is not bringing much new in this offer but it keeps promoting their old offer in new ways. Airtel brings back its old very popular hit hashtag (of 2011) that is #HarEkFriendZarooriHotaHai. Airtel wants to make it popular again like 2011 and wants to show that it is doing something for its users but it is giving same airtel to airtel free calling offer which was already present in the market.
Airtel has come up with two bundle offers with Rs.145 and Rs.345. In Rs.145, user can make unlimited calls to other airtel users all over the country and will also get 300 mb of 3G/4G data. Whereas in Rs. 345, user can make unlimited calls to any user all over the country with 1GB 3G/4G data.
Airtel is trying every single thing to stop its users switching from airtel to Jio as Jio is far ahead in comparison with airtel offers. Jio has recently announced Happy New Year Offer in which it has extended its free data services till 31st of March with cap of 1GB per day. Along with this, all calls are free for lifetime which is incomparable with any offer of Airtel or other telecom network. But this change is expected from Airtel and other companies if they want to keep themselves alive in the market.
Launch of Happy New Year Offer by Jio has led to a price war among the incumbent telecom operators. State-run BSNL has also earlier in the week offered attractive plans to remain competitive with the new entrant in the market and retain its market share. Vodafone has also announced ‘Double data’ for its prepaid users recently.
