CES 2017 – ASUS Showcases Zenfone 3 AR With Tango 8 GB RAM
Taiwan-based electronics group Asus has unveiled a new smartphone which uses Google Tango 3D technology, sports 8GB RAM and will run on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The new device, unveiled by ASUS at the CES 2017 in Las Vegas features a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED QHD, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.
The ASUS Zenfone AR sports 23MP camera, depth camera, and motion camera, and is powered by a 3000mAh battery.
Zenfone AR is also one of a small number of smartphones that is compatible with Google Daydream, the US tech giant\’s virtual reality system.
The only other handset using Project Tango is Lenovo\’s Phab2 phone, which was released last year.
The Zenfone AR is the second handset to incorporate the Tango computing platform which allows for indoor mapping, augmented reality and more.
Project Tango uses depth sensing and motion tracking to create onscreen 3D experiences, allowing users to get a better picture of a physical environment for functions such as home decoration.
The Zenfone AR will be available in the Q2 2017.
ASUS hasn’t yet revealed the price details of the Zenfone AR.
